NA 003 Valves Standards Committee

The Standards Committee Valves (NAA) is responsible for standardization in the fields of industrial valves and building valves (water supply in buildings). The scope contains the national, European and international standardization of valves which control the fluid flow by open, close or partly close the flow channel or by dividing or mixing the fluid flow. Especially included are basic standards of valves, product standards of valves and performance standards of valves. Not in the scope are a) the standardization of pipe connections (e. g. flanges and connecting threads); b) fire protection valves (except hydrants, gas bottle valves, valves for refrigerating systems). In this context, ball valves, butterfly valves, gate valves, check valves and diaphragm valves are characteristic valve types. At the European level, the Committee is responsible for the national standardization of work items in the fields of CEN/TC 69 Industrial valves, CEN/TC 164/WG 8 Water supply - Sanitary tapware and CEN/TC 164/WG 14 Water supply - Valves and fittings for buildings and devices to prevent pollution of backflow. At the international level, the Committee participates in the relevant projects of ISO/TC 153 Valves and ISO/TC 185 Safety devices for protection against excessive pressure.
